Common Questions

How long does therapy take?

It depends. Some people come for a few months around a specific challenge. Others stay longer because the work keeps opening up in ways that feel valuable. I won't keep you longer than you need, and I'll be honest about where I think we are.

Do you take insurance?

Do you take insurance? I'm an out-of-network provider. I can provide a superbill (a receipt for therapy services) that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Many clients get a portion of their fee covered this way. I'm happy to walk you through how it works.

What's a first session like?

We talk. I'll ask about what brought you in, what you've tried, and what you're hoping for. You'll get a sense of whether the room feels right. There's no pressure to commit, and no homework.

How often do we meet?

Most clients come once a week. Some come twice. We'll figure out what makes sense based on what you're working through.

In person or virtual?

Both. I see clients in my office in the Flatiron District and virtually throughout New York State.
