The spiraling, the compulsive habits, the fights that keep repeating. Those aren't the real problem. They're pointing at something that's been there for a while.

Talking is how it changes

Not worksheets, not apps, not a quick fix that wears off in a month. There is so much about being a person that is unknowable until you have to say it out loud to someone else.

It took a lifetime to build the patterns you're stuck in. We're not going to undo that in six sessions. But we will undo it.

We aren't going to pretend it won't rain. We're going to teach you to carry an umbrella.

THE WORK

Common Patterns

I work with individuals, couples, and adolescents. Most of my clients are sharp, capable people who are stuck in something they can't solve alone.

Capable on paper. Stalling in practice.

You have every advantage and still can't get traction. Career paralysis, failure to launch, the sense that everyone else figured something out that you missed.

Growing up in a world that wasn't ready for them.

For adolescents and teen girls navigating identity, self-esteem, social pressure, and a pace of life that nobody prepared them for.

The same fight, different day.

You're not really arguing about the dishes. Somewhere along the way, you stopped being able to hear each other. We'll figure out what's actually being said.

Untangling how you learned to relate.

Difficult family systems, narcissistic parents, patterns you inherited without choosing them. You can't change where you came from, but you can stop repeating it.

Common Questions

How long does therapy take?

It depends. Some people come for a few months around a specific challenge. Others stay longer because the work keeps opening up in ways that feel valuable. I won't keep you longer than you need, and I'll be honest about where I think we are.

Do you take insurance?

Do you take insurance? I'm an out-of-network provider. I can provide a superbill (a receipt for therapy services) that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Many clients get a portion of their fee covered this way. I'm happy to walk you through how it works.

What's a first session like?

We talk. I'll ask about what brought you in, what you've tried, and what you're hoping for. You'll get a sense of whether the room feels right. There's no pressure to commit, and no homework.

How often do we meet?

Most clients come once a week. Some come twice. We'll figure out what makes sense based on what you're working through.

In person or virtual?

Both. I see clients in my office in the Flatiron District and virtually throughout New York State.

Not sure if we're a match? Reach out anyway.

I'm not the right therapist for everyone. If you're looking for a structured approach with worksheets and homework, or if you need crisis stabilization, I'll help you find someone who's a better fit.
